Thanksgiving

We had an uneventful, but appropriately so, Thanksgiving. Jay went to the dentist the day before, we hosted the Harrison grandparents and the Padgetts, and then it was time for FSU football!

Bradley's

Bradley's Country Store is a relic. It's old fashioned, it's true country, it's delicious, it's genuine. And they host a family festival!! J.T. was in Austin at the F1 race, so GranB and I corralled the kids accordingly.

Random fall assortment

Here are a few pics from Fall that don't tie to anything in particular. Jay has new cowboy boots, Charlotte loves to dress up, and Fall is warm here!

Halloween!

We enjoyed Halloween thoroughly! Jay had a field trip to a pumpkin patch that day at school, and Charlotte's preschool had a costume parade downtown. Betty and Jim joined us for evening trick or treating, and we met up with neighbors who offered us a spot on their hay wagon to trick or treat. Oh, and in case you can't tell, Charlotte is Ladybug Girl (children's literary character) and Jay is Ironman.

End of flag football

Jay's first season of flag football ended the day before Halloween. They only won one game, but Jay learned a lot and had a great time every week! And, of course, a new trophy is always awesome!

Boston mini marathon

JT is now a two-time participant in the Boston GA half marathon, and I think the three of us can claim to be his most enthusiastic supporters. We brought donuts, and jay even ran the last bit of the race holding Daddy's hand. Cutest ever!

And the weekend BEFORE? Aunt Katie came to visit!! Her first visit to Thomasville ever, and we were happyhappyhappy to have her! We ate everything, played everything, and tried to cover every part of our Thomasville life! She liked the Spanish moss and cotton fields, but I think could do without the humidity. Understandable!
And the weekend before? We got to share our new addition, and new Fall weather, with Grandma and Popop from NC. I think the highlight was visiting Tall Timbers and the wagon ride through the woods. I think the kids might think the highlight was the blue icee that turned everyone's tongues blue!
What did we do this weekend? We enjoyed the Brooks County Skillet Festival! Good country fun! And we painted pumpkins at home because it's still too early to carve in the humid south!
This weather has been fantastic for lots of outdoor fun!

J.T. has been out of town this week, so check out what the three of us have been up to. Jay's first flag football game, milkshakes at Zaxby's, and lunch at school with Jay are my highlights! In the football pics, Jay is on the gold team, in gray shorts.

Our nanny was under the weather this week, which is too bad for her, but turned into some fun for us! I picked up both kids from school several days, got to plan after school fun, and in general got some unexpected extra time with the kids. Win!

Charlotte ran down the hall from the kitchen toward Jay's room one morning before school. With great grace she fell as she approached the door and hit her face on the door frame. Yes, the door frame. The evidence of the fall on her face was immediate. It's not so much here or here, but riiiight here. Thanks, Tommy Boy!

This past weekend we had a GRAND time at the beach. We headed in when others were evacuating for Hurricane Isaac. The surf was a bit rough, but the weather was incredible and the kids loved their giant sandbox! This summer we have gone three times just for the day, which is hardly a full day, but works surprisingly well with two young kids. The kids are awesome beach-bound troopers, and we are lucky to live within a couple hours of the Gulf!
