Week 4

The big power outage of 2012 proved to be far less crazy than we anticipated.  This is good news!  Yes, we spent a great deal of time preparing bags and totes and schedules, cleaning out the fridge and freezer, and working ourselves into a frenzy about making everyone's schedule work... but, if all that preparation somehow 'earned' us a low-key, uneventful power switch, then I'm all for it!

Each day we have more walls, and we're also preparing for more cement slab!

Standing in the driveway, looking at all the walls going up!  Notice the wall closing in the new family room on the left.  And, I don't think it's very clear, but that's interior walls happening in the master bath way behind Charlotte.

And, don't miss the slab preparation right behind Charlotte.  That's compacted dirt, with plastic and wire on top, ready for cement.  That's our new carport!

This is looking in the rear of the new master bedroom.  That crawlspace area that needed to be filled in after the old electrical panel moved?  It was previously part of the laundry room.  It is done.  Filled in!  Panel gone!  Compacted, plastic, and wire - ready for slab!

Looking straight into the master bedroom through the back window.  That silver box is the new electrical panel. It'll actually be in the family room, but you can see the back of the panel before the wall is fully built.
