Week 5, Day 4.  Getting caught up!

The construction has been going well, and these guys are HOT.  It is humid this week and warm.  I know they're used to it, and the summer will only get warmer, but they sure do look warm when we get home each evening!  Check out their hard work!

Not sure if you can tell a difference, but the trusses have multiplied and the roof is now getting eaves.

EAVES!  Not really as exciting as all caps suggests, but it IS.  EAVES! :)
I suggested checking out the workmen's work.  Had to change the perspective a teensy bit as the focus of the next few are purely family-focused, not a product of the workmen (other than the surroundings!).

J.T. gives the construction two thumbs up!

While the kids and I played in the new rooms, Buster stood on the back patio and barked at us!  He can't hear himself or anything else, so he just barks away!

Jay's turn to 'wash wash wash!'

They are sitting where the new bathtub will be.  Bathtime!

This cracks me up.  It is the 'doorway,' which is only temporary while the space is finished, so the workmen can get into the new bedroom and bathroom without crawling through windows.  The horizontal beam that says 'low clearance' is about 5'5" because I can just clear it to walk through.  Over the past few days it has gone from an open space, to a labeled cross beam, to labeled side poles, to pink flags.  I just LAUGH imagining how many workmen must have run into some piece of this, with a head or shoulder or tool, that necessitated adding more warning signs every day.  Ha!

  1. Sorry it has been such a rough week at work, but the workmen have made good progress with windows, trusses, and eaves as well as the well decorated low clearance doorway! The windows being in the new bathroom most impressed me; that is really a big step in terms of making it look like a real room. Thanks for including the whole family except you.
    Love,
    Dad

  2. Looking good. Must be so cool to watch it progress. And I'm sure the kids LOVE it. Can't wait to see the finished project! (will you keep blogging post construction?!)
